As you all know, I struggle with depression & anxiety and I have since adolescence. This year, I want to be more creative, spiritual and experimental in my ways to combat it. If you struggle with these as well, I think this will be really exciting and helpful for you. OR even if you are just “normal” and have not been diagnosed with anything, I believe these will help you live a happier life. You still have stress too! Here are things I’m trying or have tried for my anxiety/depression this year.
I actually have a ton of really interesting new posts drafted/planned for this year and I’m incredibly excited to see where this blog goes. But lately, I’ve been in a bit of a mental tug of war with my old friends, anxiety & depression, who aren’t really friends at all.
With that said, I am simply not in the place to write about my cool topics, so I hope you will tolerate my venting about my beautiful, tragic, and perplexing mind.
My struggle with self-worth has been real. It’s been long, too. I vividly remember the time in my life I became insecure and stopped thinking of myself as beautiful (6th grade, lol). It carried on into high school and then my adult life. I put my self-esteem in the hands and opinions of “popular” kids and later, careless boys, and what do you know? I never felt like enough.
